I’m Camiel, the person behind Bad Beat Basement. This brand brings my interest in poker culture into everyday clothing.
A hand can be over in seconds and stay in your head for days. The card you needed. The call you keep replaying. The moment everyone at the table understood without saying a word.
Bad Beat Basement takes its inspiration from that world: late-night poker sessions, bad beats and the stories that survive the last hand. The Basement is our name for the atmosphere around the game. A little underground. Familiar to the ones who know.
We carry it into everyday streetwear. Something to wear to the table, through the city and on the way home.

A CLEAR IDENTITY.
The ace carries a crack. That is the detail that makes it ours: a familiar symbol with something unsettled running through it. For us, it reflects the tension of the game and the moments that refuse to go to plan.
It is the thread through the collection. Small on the chest. Paired with artwork that gives each piece its own voice. Red, off-white and stone against a black base.
Need Money brings the humour. Silent Tilt holds the tension. Fold Call All-in captures the decision. One Out leaves a final possibility hanging. Different stories, the same Basement.
